My FAQ can be found here: (x

Already I’m being bombarded with the question…

Why was X character re-cast? / What happened to Y actor?
Typically with re-casts, there are scheduling conflicts that prevent the first actor from returning.   Even if they don’t have another production to work on, they might decide to skip out for other personal reasons.  I know none of these people personally, and this is not the sort of information they would publicly divulge, so beyond the information below, I don’t have an answer.

The above is copy-pasted directly from my FAQ.

I understand that many of you are sad and disappointed about Kageyama and Noya being recast, but I cannot speak as to why.

The only insight that I can give are these facts:

Shouhei has been a distinguished actor in 2.5D for some time, and he is given more and more leading roles with each year.  Given that, it is more beneficial to his career to accept a leading role in another production than to continue in a minor capacity for Haikyuu.
Tatsunari has always been the type to want to challenge himself and try new things, and he has never felt the deep, emotional attachment to this production that some of his co-stars have.  I’m assuming he’s moved on to some other project that has more piqued his interest and possibly also better for his overall career.

In the meantime, I encourage you to keep an open mind regarding the new actors who will take on these roles, because Engeki Haikyuu is NOT an easy production.  It is EXTREMELY demanding on their time and on their bodies, and anyone who can actually tackle the work involved in this play should be respected.

I know you mean well but saying that Tatsunari has “never felt the deep, emotional attachment” to Haisute is a load of crap. I hate this so much and I hate that you’re quick to judge Tatsunari like this just because you ain’t seeing him that often. Lemme tell you, I’m a member of Footloose and all his Tassages prove that he definitely loves Haisute and everyone who has been involved in this production. I’m sure that he doesn’t want to let the opportunity go but he’s busy, it can’t be helped. Since the new Haisute is slated for Fall, he’s probably filming for Yowapeda right when the rehearsals start. The second season has two cours, so of course it will take longer. He’s also been cast into a broadway musical next March so he’s gonna prepare for that too. The latter is a BROADWAY MUSICAL. So please, do us a favor and stop judging Tatsunari like this. Since you’re a blog with a huge following, people might actually believe you.
