Hmmm, well I won’t say that Sword Art Online is really horrible; I’ll say it will pass off as decent, and I actually liked it enough to finish the whole series.. but I’ll admit, this show isn’t great, it’s completely forgettable, this is filled with cliches, I don’t like Kirito at all and he and Asuna Mary Sue are too perfect that they kinda suck, you know what I mean?

The start of the series was really interesting. Players trapped in a virtual reality world—that’s a great theme. But after that it became “Kirito’s adventures as he collects his harem” and later on it became “Asuna and Kirito’s love story”.. I just didn’t understand their love story at all, it was really rushed, like out of the blue Asuna suddenly had feelings for him? WTF? And I despise the fact that Kirito was treated like a Messiah in this series, and I don’t really care about the second part with that incest-like cousin of his.

Anyway, I don’t really dislike SAO. I still watched the whole series, and I still plan to watch the second season, since I’ve already started the series. Still, even though I don’t dislike it, I am actually quite indifferent towards it. I watch it, but I really don’t like it that much. I just don’t understand its popularity, and I really get annoyed when my classmates fanboy about this while they talkshit Gintama. That’s playing dirty, dammit! Talk about shit taste, uh-huh. uwu And besides, they can always watch Log Horizon if they wanna see a series with a similar premise, and one that actually makes full use of its setting.

Well, I don’t know how the third arc for SAO will turn out but I hope it won’t be a lackluster one just like the first season. But really, it doesn’t need a second season at all since it’s not that great of a series imo, there are lots of anime out there that deserve a second season (like Noragami or Baccano!). But still, with its overwhelming popularity, I just knew that a second season will be made. And it really happened.
